The Electoral Commission says none of the Voter Registers is missing in the Ashanti Region.
This comes against reports that two of the registers are missing at Afigya Kwabre in the Ashanti Region. But Deputy Electoral Officer for the Ashanti Region, Isaac Owusu says the EC has not been able to print the register for one of the polling stations in the area due to technical mistakes.
He told XYZ News that the EC is working to correct this anomaly to allow the registered voters in that area to check their details before the exercise ends on Monday.
“We realize that during the registration, the officials used a wrong code in registering the applicants and therefore when they printed the names were actually loaded onto another station which we weren’t even aware [off].”
He said they have the data in their system and that they will make it available to them. He further indicated that if there is a need to extend the exercise in that community, the officials will recommend to the EC for it to be done.
