Players of the National U-17 team, the Black Starlets, have received strong caution from their Coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin, to remain focused as they prepare for their second Group A qualifying match between host nation, Gabon, in the ongoing CAF Under 17 tourney.

A brace each from Eric Ayiah and Sulley Ibrahim gave the Black Starlets a good start to their CAF U-17 Championship. Coach Fabin’s boys are now second on the table with goal difference separating them and Guinea who thrashed Gabon an empathic 5-1 win in their opening match.

With a FIFA World Cup in India insight, Coach Fabin has admonished his players to eschew complacency ahead of tonight’s encounter at the Stade de Port-Gentil which could also spell doom for Gabon if they are defeated.

“Our target is to deliver 100% in this tournament so it will be difficult to relent on our efforts against Cameroon.

Gabon are wounded and I am sure they will come at us. They still have their home support which will be very vital so we must be careful and be focused on getting the results,” he added.

“I must also congratulate Cameroon for giving us a very good match though we took our chances and won 4-0 and just as I noted before that there is no easy team in the competition so we must sit up if we want to be crowned champions,” Fabin said ahead of the match.

Gabon denied Ghana the chance of clinching their third trophy in the tournament in the 2015 edition of the competition when their protest against Ghana for fielding an unqualified player was upheld by officials of CAF.
