No jobs at COCOBOD for Delta Force again - Kennedy Agyepong

Maverick lawmaker for Assin Central Constituency Kennedy Agyepong has put on ice processes he claimed he had initiated to get members of New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Force engaged at COCOBOD.

“I will ask the person who is working on it to immediately stop it in view of their recent conduct. I struck a COCOBOD deal for them to be employed only for them to behave this way. Truth be told, I don’t tolerate nonsense.

NDC with their violence they never behaved this way.

Chief should truncate the process. I am one person who does not condone in lawlessness….you were not the only persons who suffered for the party. I cannot speak for you in this case”, he revealed.

Mr Kennedy Agyepong believes their conduct is beyond pardon and said initially he felt it was because they were jobless but they have behaved beyond pardon and must face the full rigors of the law.

“I don’t subscribe to violence whatsoever. I feel frightened by their conduct. We should not encourage such lawlessness in this party like being embarked on Delta Force”, he stated.

Speaking on the boiling point on his station Oman FM last Thursday evening, Mr Agyepong said their conduct smacks of a disgrace to the party and the president reiterating the need for them to be dealt with to serve as a deterrent to others.

“I was brought up in a home and I would never countenance on this and neither is Nana Addo as a law abiding person also happy, I have vowed to be behind you but I would never support such disgraceful act…,” he added.

Background

All 13 suspects who were linked to attack on the Regional Security Coordinator Mr. George Adjei  had been arraigned before the court on various charges ranging from conspiracy to assault and assaulting a public officer and causing to unlawful damage on Thursday April 6, 2017.

Shortly after the case was called and their pleas taken, the trial Judge, Mary Senkyire demanded they should be remanded in prison custody until the next adjourned date which is 20th of April, 2017.

Her pronouncement drew uproar in the courtroom and before she could move back into her chamber, more members of the group were called in by some of their colleagues and started destroying property of the court.

In the ensuing melee, the judge who was almost assaulted by the group managed to flee and run into safety before she could be pounced on coupled with the arrival of a police reinforcement team saving the situation.

It would be recalled that some members of the Delta Force on March 24, 2017 stormed the Ashanti regional coordinating council and forcefully demanded the removal of the regional security coordinator.

George Adjei was appointed by the President for the post but according but the groups claim they cannot work with him because he is not from the region.

They broke into Adjei’s office manhandled him and asked him to leave the premises.
