Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has rejected calls for an investigation into the death of President John Evans Atta Mills.

Some Ghanaians claim that the late President died under mysterious circumstances and that it is important to investigate the issue to put matters to rest.

However, speaking on Atinka FM on Wednesday, Anyidoho described the calls as baseless saying, “President Mills departed clinically and so that should be the end”.

The former Communications Director at the Office of the late President also said Ghanaians had done enough to show their love for the late President.

Mr. Anyidoho says right from the time of Mills’ demise till now, Ghanaians have shown love and respect to the late President. “Ghanaians have not done badly after his demise and we should be commended,” he added.

According to him, the late president is happy wherever he is since all the laudable projects he initiated are being attended to.

He said projects like the University of Health and Allied Sciences in the Volta Region, Atta Mills Research Library, Cape Coast Sports Stadium, among others are being managed well especially the universities.

A lecture is being organized to mark the 3rd anniversary of his death.

The lecture is under the Auspices of the John Evans Atta Mills Center for Law and Governance at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Library (University of Cape Coast).

Former Governor of Ekiti State in Nigeria is expected to grace the 3rd Atta Mills Memorial Lectures which will be held in Accra on July 21, 2015
