The Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church, Bantama, Very Reverend Charles Aaron Ekuban, has said he would not share a single drop of tear for the Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, if he loses his job.
The Mayor, he says, has woefully failed in the discharge of his core duties.
“If he loses his job, so be it. I have no tears for him because he has sat down for things to go wayward. As someone who has been honoured as the best Mayor in Africa …look at what has happened,” he said in an interview on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.3 FM Monday.
Mr. Vanderpuije who was recently awarded the best Mayor in Africa is reported to have blamed the Ministry of Finance for failing to release funds meant for the construction of storm drains.
“This is apologetic, a defense mechanism. For a very long time, he did not talk about it, so why this hour …during the raining season.”
The AMA is currently embarking on a demolishing exercise of supposed structures sitting on waterways.
The Methodist Minister has questioned the timing, insisting it ‘is wrong.”
“I think this is not the time for the AMA to demolish buildings. The timing is wrong.”
