Former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon Constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale says government over exaggerated the health status of the second gentleman of the land, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.

According to him, the government should have treated the issue privately than bringing it in the public domain for discussion.

“If the President or his Vice is seeking health treatment, it should be private. President Nana Addo always goes to the hospital but we don’t hear that in public. Why is Bawumia’s own all over the place?” he quizzed.

“I wasn’t happy when I heard that. I know the brouhaha of Bawumia’s health status was tactics to divert attention from Nana Addo’s bad governance and his recent meet the press issues”, he said in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was reported sick on Friday January 19, and was subsequently flown to the UK for medical leave on the advice of his doctors, according to information from the Flagstaff House.

It is however not confirmed when exactly the Vice President will return but his wife, Hajia Samira Bawumia has indicated her husband is doing very well and will resume work anytime soon – they were also captured in a viral video taking a stroll on the street in UK.
