Non-formal education functionaries attend workshop

Bawjiase (C/R), Dec 30, GNA - Forty Non-Formal Education personnel i= n Awutu-Senya District have attended a two-day capacity building workshop at Bawjiase in the Central Region.

Participants were made up of editors, facilitators, programme officers and learners. The programme, jointly organized by Awutu-Senya District Assembly and the District Non-Formal Education Directorate and sponsored by Internationa= l Labour Organization (ILO) Decent Works was to equip the participants with knowledge and skills to manage their businesses to the benefit of their communities.

Mr Samuel Asiedu of Small Scale Business Advisory Board was the resource person and took the participants through entrepreneurial competencies, marketing, customer relations, records keeping, strategies fo= r business growth and investment. Madam Lydia Sulemana, Awutu-Senya District Non-Formal Education Director, advised them to use the knowledge and skills they acquired to better their lot.

She appealed to the participants to impart what they had learnt to their community members to help address mismanagement of businesses that leads to collapse of many businesses.

Madam Sulemana appealed to the District Assembly and the District Education Directorate to support them periodically to organize such workshops and training programmes for its staff and learners.
