The Reverend Dr Samuel Ayete-Nyampong, Clerk of General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has called on Ghanaians to demonstrate a high level of sincerity to ensure national development.

He said for the nation to move forward, there is the need for the citizenry to be sincere in all endeavour and also eschew selfishness.

The Rev Ayete-Nyampong made the call at the Silver Jubilee celebration of North Legon Ascension Presbyterian Church on the theme: “Your Sincerity to God’s work Shall be rewarded.”

The Rev Ayete-Nyampong said many people claim to be men of God, preaching salvation but ended up enriching themselves at the expense of ordinary Ghanaians.

He therefore charged them to desist from all forms of negative tendencies that may tarnish the image of the clergy.

The Rev Ayete-Nyampong expressed regret that some people who occupy higher positions sometimes become selfish and abuse their office and that this, he said always drive back the clock of development.

He urged the electorate to vote for politicians who have the development of the nation at heart in the 2016 General Election.

Rev Lily Oteng-Yeboah, Resident Pastor said the church established some 25 years ago, had transformed many lives.

She appealed to Christians to open a new chapter by refraining from acts which hinder national development.

Members who had contributed immensely to the development of the church were given certificates of honour.
