Adidome, (V/R), Jan. 28, GNA- Communities in the North-Tongu District have commended government for its efforts at opening up the area through road construction works. They expressed joy through questions and contributions during the Jubilee People's Assembly held at Adidome on Friday. The road projects mentioned include the 91-billion Adidome-Sogakope
road, the tarring of the Adidome town routes and the proposed 16 kliometre Volo-Juaponp. Mr Moses Asem, District Chief Executive in a welcoming address said
Volu, Dorfor, Gborkpo, Afawogbe were among areas connected to the national electricity grid last year. He said transformers had been secured for power to be extended to other 15 communities including Podoe and Kpomkpo. Mr Asem said the assembly was constructing three commercial irrigation dams in Mafi and Dorfor areas while the Irrigation Development Authority (IDA) was providing another three in the district to improve on farming and animal husbandry in the area. Major Courage Quashigah (rtd) Minister of Health said Ghanaians should avoid antagonism when dealing with each other. Other Ministers on the trip include Dr. Brempong Yeboa, Deputy Minister of Manpower Youth and Employment and Mr Kwaku Nayan, Deputy Volta Regional Minister.
