NASA's Terra satellite passed over the western Africa on Jan. 11, 2013 and captured many areas of agricultural fires and smoke plumes in northern Ghana. Some of the fires appear to be burning in Mole National Park north of Lake Volta, and in Digya National Park, west of the lake.
