Notorious armed robber gunned down at Wasa Nananko in the Western region

A notorious armed robber believed to be in his twenties, popularly known as Muller has been shot to death in Wasa Nananko in the Western region.

An eyewitness recounting the incident on Rivers Fm said the deceased was attacked by some unknown assailants, early Friday morning.

He described the deceased as a "hardened and notorious armed robber" who has been in and out of police custody on countless occasions and is known for being the mastermind behind incessant thefts in the community.

According to the eyewitness, Muller is suspected to have robbed illegal Chinese miners in the area during the period resulting in a gun battle with some of the miners which eventually caused his death.

Residents are calling for a step up in security as robbery cases in their community has reached it's apex.

The body of the deceased has been conveyed to Wasa Akropong government hospital for an autopsy which will in turn aid further investigations.
