Amid contestations by the New Patriotic Party that no injunction has been placed on the re-collation of polling station results from the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency, a video has surfaced capturing the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, supposedly rejecting service from a court bailiff.
A video by TV3 shows the court bailiff attempting to serve Frank Annoh-Dompreh with the injunction secured by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the process of re-collating the results.
However, Annoh-Dompreh, after a very brief discussion with the bailiff, walked away, refusing to be served.
The video comes after the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, denied knowledge of the interlocutory injunction, questioning its authenticity.
“If there’s an injunction, as a lawyer, I know the processes. Where is the bailiff? At the end of the day, is he an officer of the law? So, if there is indeed an injunction, the officers here will certainly be called and told. You cannot take a concocted injunction from the NDC,” Justin Frimpong Kodua noted.
The Electoral Commission has since Thursday, December 11, 2024, been re-collating results from constituencies in the Eastern Region following protestations by leading figures of the NPP.
The EC, in its re-collation, has flipped already declared results from the Fanteakwa North and Akwatia constituencies, declaring the NPP’s parliamentary candidates as the winners.
The results from the re-collation have been rejected by the NDC, who insist that the activities ongoing at the Tesano Police Station have no place in law.
