Nsawam Court remands three suspected robbers

Nsawam, April 30, GNA - The Nsawam Circuit Court in the Akuapem South has remanded three suspected armed robbers in prison custody to reappear on May 6.

Their plea was not taken.

They are Eric Osae, 28, alias Kudjo Tuskie, Haruna Issah, 25, and Ali Mohammed, 26, alias Oseeseoseesey.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector of Police Joyce Adamah told the court, presided over by Group Captain Obeng Ntim, that the accused on Friday April 16, attacked the inhabitants of Djankrom, a suburb of Nsawam and collected their properties included mobile phones, wrist watches and millions of cedis and took to their heels.

The prosecution said the Nsawam Police personnel who were on a patrol in the town and its surroundings chased them upon a tip off and arrested Haruna Issah and Mohammed in a room at Djankrom, while Eric Osae was arrested later at the Ofankor Police barrier.

The prosecution retrieved machetes, axes and some locally manufactured pistols believed to have been used by the accused in their operations at the scene of their arrest.
