OSP reflects on 'difficult' 2025, reaffirms commitment to accountability

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has described 2025 as one of the most testing periods in its institutional history.

In a Christmas message shared on its X page on December 25, 2025, the Office noted that the year placed exceptional pressure on Ghana’s accountability framework.

“Few years test institutions the way 2025 tested the Office of the Special Prosecutor,” the statement said.

The OSP expressed gratitude to its allies, champions of accountability, and key stakeholders for their support, acknowledging that their backing helped keep the institution functional and resilient throughout the year.

“We extend our sincere thanks to our allies, champions of accountability, and stakeholders for standing with us through another remarkable year,” it stated.

According to the OSP, sustained support was crucial in preventing the Office from being silenced or dismantled at a time when its work faced significant pushback.

“In the face of open resistance from interests threatened by accountability, your steadfast support ensured that the Office was neither silenced nor dismantled,” it added.

The Office also extended season’s greetings to the public, wishing Ghanaians a peaceful holiday season and expressing optimism for the year ahead.
