Abuja -- President John Kufuour of Ghana has described President Olusegun Oba-sanjo as "his guardian angel and dear brother."
He made the declaration yesterday when Obasanjo, accompanied by the first lady, Stella, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olu Adeniji, visited him at the Hilton Hotel, Abuja to share the joy of his 65th birthday and pray for long life, good health and prosperity for Ghana.
Obasanjo, after reading from Psalm 103, said that every child of God should bless the Lord for protection, benefits, good health, mercy and forgiveness of our sins.
"We should all thank God Almighty for His blessings and help to us at all times," he stated.
Obasanjo also prayed for Ghana, while the Villa chaplain, Professor Yusuf Obaje, led a prayer session for president Kufuor and his family.
Kufuor, in his response said that he wasoverwhelmed by the love, care and concern which Obasanjo has shown him and his country.
He stated that President Obasanjo had indeed remained a pillar of strength for Nigeria, Ghana, West Africa and the whole African continent.
