The Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has called the bluff of the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) Kofi Adams over the latter’s threat to sue him.
Counsel for Mr. Adams is demanding an immediate retraction and apology from Mr. Obiri Boahen who suggested that the NDC executive was hoarding state vehicles in his house.
In a letter written to Mr. Obiri Boahen, the lawyers are demanding an apology within seven days, failure to which a defamation suit will be filed against the Deputy NPP General Secretary.
Mr. Obiri Boahen’s claims were made after some national security operatives stormed the residence of Mr. Adams and seized some vehicles supposedly belonging to the state.
Mr. Obiri Boahen has, however, stated that he owes Mr. Adams no apology for calling him a thief adding that he is ready to face him in court.
In an interview on Morning Starr Friday, Mr. Obiri Boahen told host Nii Arday Clegg that the battle lines have been drawn and he is ready to face Adams anywhere.
“I am calling off his bluff…I am repeating I said I am calling off his bluff…the battle lines are drawn, I am ready for him,” Mr. Obiri Boahen said.
