The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Obuasi East constituency of the Ashanti Region has organized a massive health walk through the principal streets of Obuasi. The purpose of the walk was to foster unity among the rank and file of the party towards victory in the 2024 general elections.

The party supporters who turned out for the walk were clad in party colours, singing party songs and campaign tunes. The more than 5-hour walk ended at the AGA clubhouse at Wawase, where the Parliamentary candidate of the party in the Obuasi East constituency, Samuel Aboagye, addressed the enthusiastic party faithful.

Mr. Aboagye thanked the executives of the party, opinion leaders, and party supporters for coming out in their numbers to join the walk. He urged them to go out in their numbers and campaign for the party by telling people about the track record of the NDC presidential candidate, His Excellency John Mahama.

"I want you all to know that the NDC is winning this election, but we cannot do so if you sit at home on election day. Go out and campaign by promoting the good works of the NDC and also come out on election day and vote massively for the party," the Obuasi East PC said.

He criticized the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Patrick Boakye Yiadom, saying that he was bereft of ideas and had performed abysmally in the last 8 years he has been an MP for the area. He said the Member of Parliament has not shown leadership, leaving constituents impoverished with no improvement in their lives.

Mr. Aboagye pointed out that he was the right person to lead the constituency as their Member of Parliament to bring about the needed development the people have been yearning for, which they have been deprived of in the last 8 years.

Samuel Aboagye lost to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Patrick Boakye Yiadom of the NPP, in the 2020 general elections. However, the NDC Parliamentary candidate is confident of unseating the incumbent MP come December 7th.
