Obuasi (Ash), April 12, GNA- An appeal has been made to churches and other social groups to donate blood to replenish the blood bank at the Obuasi Government Hospital.
Mr Abraham Asare-Bediako, the Hospital Administrator, made the appeal after members of the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International had undertaken a four-hour clean-up exercise at the hospital on Holy Saturday.
They swept the compound, removed cobwebs at the wards, scrubbed the corridors and trimmed the lawns and hedges at the hospital. The church also donated a wall clock to the hospital.
Mr Asare-Bediako said one problem facing the hospital was lack of blood.
The Hospital Administrator said one way churches and other social organisations could help save lives especially pregnant women was to donate blood.
Reverend Daniel E. Nkrumah, the Adansi District Pastor of the Church commended members for the good work done.
He said the church leadership resolved to use the Easter festivities to improve sanitation at public places. Pastor Mike Opoku-Agyemang head of the local church, said apart from the clean up, church members prayed for the patients.
