Founder and Leader of United Progressive Party (UPP) Akwasi Addai aka ‘Odike,’ has descended heavily on President John Dramani Mahama, describing him as “failed president.”

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC,) led by President Mahama, had failed woefully to implement even a single of its numerous campaign promises made to the electorate in 2012.

Odike recounted that President Mahama, during the heat of the 2012 electioneering campaign, bombarded Ghanaians with numerous juicy promises, which helped NDC to win the polls.

Sadly, the UPP founder bemoaned, it had become clear that all that the NDC, in particular, President Mahama promised Ghanaians, were just lies, noting, “the NDC were just taking us for a ride.”

He observed with pain that the current NDC administration has done absolutely nothing since it assumed political power, to better the lives of the populace, insisting that the NDC government has failed.

According to him, President Mahama and his government has not implemented even a single policy to expedite Ghana’s developmental aspirations, weeping about how the country is being mismanaged.

Odike also expressed gross concern over the adverse poverty which is now the order of the day, lamenting that Ghanaians were in deep difficult times, and this was as a result of the government’s bad leadership.

“Things are very difficult for the ordinary Ghanaian, lately,” he said on Nhyira Fm, stressing about the need for the people to vote the UPP into political power in 2016 to implement better policies to save Ghana from sinking.

Still attacking the president, he condemned the first gentleman on the land for causing deep cracks in the NDC, maintaining that it is almost impossible for the NDC to win the 2016 polls with a divided house.

Odike flatly debunked assertions that his political party, which is based in Kumasi, was formed ostensibly, to help reduce the votes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which is also Kumasi-based, to help the NDC to win the 2016 polls.

According to him, he formed the UPP with the ultimate intention of making history in 2016 by winning the presidential elections thereby breaking the NDC and NPP duopoly in the Ghanaian political landscape.

Odike said Ghanaians, since 1992, have entrusted the management of the country into the hands of the NDC and NPP, so far, “but sadly these two largest political parties have done nothing to develop the country.”

The UPP guru promised to appoint competent, patriotic and hard working Ghanaians into ministerial positions, should his political party win the 2016 election, saying that his interest is about how to develop Ghana.
