Odotobri constituency NPP elects executive

Jacobu (Ash), Nov 1, GNA - Mr Edward Owusu-Bori polled 95 votes to dethrone Mr Joseph Kwadwo Ntim, the incumbent, as chairman of the Odotobri constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the election held at Jacobu in the Amansie Central district of Ashanti. Mr Ntim polled 20 votes in the election conducted by the Electoral Commission.

Mr Philip Kwadwo Kyei polled 97 votes to win the post of constituency organizer against his challenger, Mr Christopher Kwadwo Okyere who had 17 votes.

The women's organizer position went to Miss Emelia Boateng who had 60 votes as against Miss Bertha Anane, who polled 56 votes. Six other executives were returned unopposed.

They were Mr Castro Antwi, first vice-chairman, Mr Samuel Kwadwo Antwi, second vice-chairman and Mr James Wilmont Saana, secretary. The rest were Mr Ben Appiah, assistant secretary, Mr Agyei Barima, treasurer and Mr Ofosu Appiah, youth organizer.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Owusu-Bori thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and his colleagues and assured them that they would work as a team to move the Party forward in the constituency. Mr Sam Cudjoe, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, advised the newly elected executive to work together to enable the party win the 2008 elections. He asked them to avoid petty squabbles, backbiting and other tendencies that would draw the party backwards. Madam Georgina Osei-Tutu, Ashanti Regional Women's Organiser of the party, swore the newly elected executives into office. 01 Nov. 05
