Ofori Amponsah sweeps Music Awards

Ofori Amponsah has been adjudged the best Ghanaian musician for the year 2005.

He picked up seven prizes at the Ghana Music Awards held in Accra last night.


His accolades for the night included Song of the Year award, which he won with his hit track ?Otoolege?. The hit tack also won him the most popular Song of the year award. He also picked up the album of the year, artiste of the year and the contemporary highlife song of the year awards.


Contemporary highlife artiste of the year, contemporary highlife album and Artiste of the year all went to Ofori Amponsah.


Other award winners include Noble Nketsia and Pastor Josh Laryea who picked up the awards for Gospel category.


Gospel album of the year and gospel song of the year went to Nobel Nketsia whiles Gospel Artiste of the year award went to pastor Josh Laryea.


In the Hiplife category, Castro won hiplife song and hiplife album of the year awards.

The trio, Praye, won two awards namely, new artiste of the year and new hiplife artiste of the year.


Lucky Mensah?s ?come back? won the highlife song of the year award.


Wutah won reggae song of the year and the record album of the year awards.


Kwabena-Kwabena picked up the award for the best male vocal performance of the year and Stella Seal won the best female vocal performance award.


The duo, Nkasei won hiplife artiste of the year and Pastor Josh Laryea also took home the gospel artiste of the year award.


Best collaboration of the year went to Kofi Nti, Ofori Amponsah and K.K Fosu for the song Rakia
