Final Burial Rites Of Nana Mbra V: Omanhene Of Cape Coast The Oguaa Traditional Council and the Nana Mbra V Burial Planning Committee of Cape Coast has formally announced the final Burial arrangements of the late Oguaamanhen, Osabarima Kodwo Mbra V

The burial period is from the 7th to 12th of July, 1997. As part of the arrangement, there will be public announcements, performances and rituals over the period of 7th to the 11th (Monday to Friday). In this period the seven Asafo Companies of the Oguaa Traditional area, will feature prominently with various performances. Then on Saturday, 12 of April 7, the grand event the Burial Durbur will take place at the forecast of the cape coast castle.

Nana Kwadwo Mbra V known in private life as Kofi Kakraba died in August last year. Born into the Royal Ebiradze family on June 9, 1992, he was chosen for kingship at the tender age of 12. As custom demanded, he was confirmed for a period of 14 years and was finally endstooled Omanhen on July 27, 1948.

During his reign, Nana, a person of transparent modesty, dispensed with most of the ornaments, pomp and circumstance of his exalted position. He showed his deep commitment and concern for the welfare of his people by personally leading the effort to achieve the resettlement of the Bensti people to Ola Bentsi.

As part of his burial rites which is forecasted to be a large event, a number of honourable personalities and dignitaries have been invited to participate. Amongst them would be the President of Ghana, H.E. J.J. Rawlings, Paramount Chiefs, the Diplomatic Corp, Ministers of State and Members of the Council of State.

Meanwhile, a number of memorabilia of Nana Mbra V will be outdoored soon.
