Ho, Dec 31, GNA - Still-born Siamese twins, both girls joined at the chest down to the waist, were delivered at the Ho Municipal Hospital on Friday.

Miss Innocentia Anthonio, Senior Nursing Officer who supervised the delivery, said it took four hours to deliver the twins whose mother Adzo Alhassan was rushed to the hospital looking exhausted when attempts at delivery at home failed.

Miss Anthonio said ground okro was administered into the birth carnal of the mother in an attempt to get the babies out. She said during the process of delivery at home one of the babies was pushed back into the mother's womb when they were coming out with their legs first, thus fracturing their abdomen and forcing out their intestines.
Adzo Alhassan had no history of antenatal attendance, no hospital delivery and had six previous deliveries out of which three died.
