Correspondence from Eastern Region:
The stool name of the new Okuapehene, Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo II, has been amended to become Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.
According to the Akuapem Traditional Council, it is in the national archives that the first Kwasi Akuffo, the current chief's great grandfather, was known both as the first and the second Kwasi Akuffo since he ascended the throne on two separate occasions.
This was known at the weekend when the 2004 batch of the Legon Presec Old Boys Association paid a courtesy call on the Okuapehene.
The traditional authorities, therefore, disclosed that the new Okuapehene would thenceforth be known as Oseeadeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.
On their part, the Old Boys, who were the mates of the Okuapehene, acknowledged the new name and expressed joy in having one of their own become the Paramount Chief of Akuapem.
Speaking as an Akuapem indigen and also part of the 2004 PRESEC Old Boys, Kwame Addo Ofori expressed optimism that the brilliant and visionary Okuapehene would transform Okuapeman.
He pledged their unflinching support to the Okuapehene, Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.
