Okyehene returns after two-week visit

Accra, Sept. 22 GNA - The Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Oforipenyin I, return home on Thursday after a two-week visit to the Netherlands, where he had discussions with officials of Wageningen and Research Centre to assist establish agricultural university in Ghana. The Okyehene told journalist at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) that the main campus of the first ever-Agric University would be situated in Bonsu in the Eastern Region and would be known as the University of Environmental and Agric Studies.

The Okyehene re-iterated his call on politicians to ensure that the country remain stable, adding that, traditional rulers should step in and complement the effort of government.


He said it is for this reason that he is proposing a conference of traditional rulers in the country in June next year at Kyebi on the theme: " The Role of Traditional Rulers in Sustainable Development and Nation Building".

Traditional chiefs from the Abuakwa State and representative of the Akwapimhene met Amoatia Oforipenyin on arrival.
