Kyebi, March 3, GNA- The Okyehene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori-Panyin, has bemoaned the selfish attitude of some Ghanaians, who accumulated everything to themselves while others suffered. He said some people were insensitive to the plight of the vulnerable and weak resulting in the rise in poverty levels. The Okyehene said these when Alhaji Mustapha Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of Chocho Industries, based at Suhum, presented four standing Hitachi air conditioning valued at GH 13,000 for the Kyebi palace at Kyebi.

Osagyefuo Ofori-Panyi said the eradication of poverty depended largely on the benevolence of rich and patriotic citizens, who were expected to commit part of their resources to the development of their respective communities.

He said Ghanaians many years ago, appreciated the act of sharing resources together, which helped to bridged the gap between the rich and the poor to some extent, but "today that patriotism and feeling for fellow human beings have vanished from the values of Ghana." Osagyefuo Ofori-Panyin thanked the company for contributing towards the development of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area. Alhaji Boateng said the company was obliged to contribute to the development of the area and the nation at large.

He appealed to the Okyenhene to help find solution to the water pollution problem caused by Kwabeng mining project in the area.
