The 1996 and 2004 year groups of the St. Thomas Aquinas Old Students Association (Old Toms) on Monday July 3 organized a buffet for the contestants of the 2017 National Maths and Science Quiz.

The buffet which was held at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, was organized by five old students of the school.

They are Daniel Nortey (aka Pizarro), Osumanu Ibrahim Babangida, Kwame Amoako Attah, Simons Aikins and Ansah Boafo Rockman.

Speaking to Kasapa News, Daniel Nortey said Prempeh College won narrowly with only two points describing it as a small victory since St. Thomas Aquinas could have won easily.

He said although the school placed second in the just ended competition they feel like the real champions because most Ghanaians supported them.

Daniel Nortey said the old students will continue to support the school in all its activities because placing second in a national contest is not an easy task.

Also advising the students about the importance of unity, Kwame Amoako Attah urged the students to continue to study together as a team since victory is not achieved by an individual.

The old Toms who could not hide their excitement about their excellent performance were highly optimistic that St. Thomas Aquinas will emerge victorious in 2018.

They also appealed to all old students from various schools in the country, to do their best to support their alma mater because such supports encourage the students and teachers to do better next time.

Mr. Selorm Rockson the science teacher who prepared the boys for the competition was highly commended by the old Toms for his unflinching support for the school although he is not an Old Tom.
