Omane Boamah: "Adentan water problem will be over by end of 2015"

Minister of Communications Dr Edward Omane Boamah has promised that the perennial water supply problems in Adentan will be a thing of the past by the end of 2015.

He told ASEMPA FM’s Ekosii sen political talk programme hosted by Kwadwo Asare Bafour Acheampong on Friday that: “Mark it on the wall, the water problem at Adentan will be over by the end of 2015”.

Rebuffing findings of the Afrobarometre round 6 survey, which found that majority of Ghanaians are not satisfied with essential services they receive from public institutions in Ghana, Dr Omane Boamah said Government has invested a lot in the water sector, which will bring relief to residents at Adentan.

The survey, which was conducted between May and June this year sought to find out how government services to the public has improved over the years.

On the provision of water and sanitation services, 66 percent of the respondents negatively assessed government’s performance.

While 75 percent of the 2,400 respondents scattered across the country evaluated government as having performed poorly in providing reliable electricity, 68 percent also rated government poorly in roads and bridge maintenance.

Finally, the report rated government’s performance in addressing educational needs and improving basic health services poorly with 63 and 61 percent of respondents respectively.

Dr Omane Boamah said the Government is doing so much to ensure that Ghanaians get relief.
