The leadership of One Volta Group (OVG) has paid a courtesy call on Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli state, President of National House Of Chiefs and Member of Council of State at his World Trade centre office in Accra.

Togbe Afede XIV who welcomed the delegation applauded the efforts by the group to see to it that they fight for the general development of Volta region and urged them to move on with a united front, adding that, a real social force such as this has been absent in the scheme of affairs in the region for far too long and happily welcomes One Volta group (OVG) as coming to the rescue.

According to Togbe Afede XIV, the task ahead of One Volta Group(OVG) can only be achieved when members remain focused and united.

Agbogbomefia also tasked the group to assiduously work for the cohesion and effective social interaction among the chiefs and people of the region and was emphatic that, this will lay a solid foundation for sustainable peace, prosperity and developments that the regions desires.

The astute Traditional ruler also motivated the team not to be cowards in the face of challenges but to stand firm and fair in their demands and dealings with politicians on all sides and be wary/cautious of saboteurs from within and outside their ranks.

Togbe Afede XIV intimated that, it is very demoralising to observe that, as a people we are yet to appreciate the efforts of some selfless individuals and leaders let alone encourage them but rather join others to mock and castigate exemplary deeds, thereby killing selflessness and good initiatives.

He said Voltarians need to courageously take steps to defend the group at all times and support their agenda,

“Yes, there may be saboteurs but yours is to remain focus and achieve your aim, “ he said.

Togbe Afede advised them not to allow any political party to influence their work but deal with every government equally on development and campaign promises.

He gave them his support for the good step, and proclaimed that the underdevelopment of the region is long overdue.

He tasked them to encourage voltarians abroad to bring home experiences, businesses and ideas to aid develop both Volta region and the country as a whole.

On the part of the One Volta Group (OVG) delegations, the leader of the delegation, Togbe Hotomaho Amedzake III conveyed condolences of One Volta group (OVG) from home and abroad to the Overlord and thanked him and the chiefs and people of Asogli for the befitting final funeral rites of our beloved mother Fianor Rosalia Akuyo Anyawoe. Togbe Amedzake III formally extended an invitation to Togbe Afede XIV for his presence at the 26th anniversary celebration of Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) 2019 on behalf of its leaders to be held in Charlotte state of North Carolina in the USA.

Finally, Mr. Mawuli Agbenu of One Volta Group (OVG) USA who represented OVG- Diaspora thanked Togbe Afede XIV and pledged OVG's unflinching support for all his endeavours aimed at development in the region.
