While many were excited to have seen the year 2018 and were jubilating in their own diverse ways, a man believed to be in his twenties died Monday afternoon after crashing into a Honda SUV on the Awoshie road in Accra.
The SUV containing 2 children and an adult crashed into the deceased who was then on a motorcycle, resulting in the fatal accident.
An eyewitness speaking to GhanaWeb said the deceased, whose identity is yet to be established, died on the spot after the impact of the crash threw him against the horizontal traffic light and back unto the ground.
The occupants of the SUV were unconscious and were rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
A 207 passenger car and two private vehicles alongside one other motorbike were affected in the accident as the SUV after the crash lost control and continued along the road hitting every car in its path and in the process injuring another motor rider leaving him in a critical condition.
