Kumasi, Dec 27, GNA- Saadiku Mohammed, 20, was on Friday stabbed to death by Issaka Dramani, 50, over the leadership of the Moshie Community in Kumasi.

The latest disturbance follows a Supreme Court ruling recently in favour of Alhaji Ibrahim Abduramani, son of the late Moshie Chief, as the head of the Moshie Community in the metropolis.

A Police spokesman said that last Friday after worship at the Central Mosque at Akwatialine, in Kumasi, Saadiku was returning home and without provocation, Mohammed Shaibu and Dramani, who belong to Alhaji Amadu Abubakar faction, attacked him.

The Police said Shaibu booted Saadiku down and Dramani stabbed him in the chest. Saadiku was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where he died on admission. Meanwhile, the two suspects have been placed in Police custody pending further investigations.

The Moshie chieftaincy dispute in Kumasi has been raging since the death of the old chief involving clashes and court actions. A High Court in Accra ruled in favour of Alhaji Amadu Abubakar as the head of the Moshie community but Alhaji Ibrahim Abduramani, the son of the late chief, appealed against the High Court verdict at the Supreme Court, which ruled in his favour.
