The Executive Secretary of the National Reconciliation Commission, Dr. Ken Agyemang Attefuah has stated that, it is the collective wisdom and experience of the Commission, to decide if the testimony given by Major Retired Kwadwo Boakye-Djan and three other members of the erstwhile AFRC regime, is the truth or otherwise.
Dr. Attefuah told Peace fm that, the experience of the commission would be tapped to determine whether the four witnesses in their testimony on Tuesday, met the expectations of the commission.
According to him, a by-stander may deem their testimony as the truth, but the commission has the prerogative to assess the importance of it in the interest of the nation.
He said it is the opinion of Major Boakye-Djan and the other three members to think of starting criminal prosecutions against the former president Flt. Lft. Jerry John Rawlings on the murder of Lance Corporal Sarkodie Addo. He said the commission has however initiated investigations into the murder of the Lance Corporal, after the wife came and testified before the commission about her late husband’s death.
In another development, the Public Relations Representative of Major Boakye-Djan, Mr. Kweku Baako Jnr. has hinted that, there could be another encounter between the commission and his Boss, in camera on some issues that may not seem clear to the commission.
