The leadership of the Ghana National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has accused the Education Minister, Hon Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh of running the Education Ministry in the media warning him against the continuation of such a practice.
“The minister on several occasions chooses to communicate every information he wants to get in the media”, NAGRAT president, Christian Addia-Poku alleged.
“Recently, he was in the media that teachers will be closing form work at 4pm despite our earlier concern addressed to him on how he chooses to communicate to us”, the president revealed.
According to the teachers, the attitude of the Manhyia South lawmaker is a gross disrespect and affront to teachers in the country urging him to eschew his open pride.
“When you are in a certain position you are not just like anyone who will say anything and justify it as my personal thinking”, the NAGRAT president told Hon. Opoku Prempeh.
“You can’t say everything because you hold sensitive position”, Mr. Christian Addia-Poku pointed out on Abusua Nkommo on Kumasi-based Abuasua FM hosted by Kwame Adinkra.
According to the Association, members are oblivious of information and lack understanding of the yet to introduce licensing examination for teacher before they can practice after school.
“I do not have any official communication from the Ministry of Education. …I got to know that teachers will be writing licensing examination in the media”, the NAGRAT president stated.
