The Christian Journal, Mont Vernon NY -While there are many ways to serve, the pastoral ministry is often considered the most noble. There’s another saying: Many are called but few are chosen. That said, it is a tremendous honor to be ordained in a ministry.

The sanctuary of Living Faith International Church was filled with family, friends, clergy, and members of the congregation on Sunday evening, June 22 2014 to celebrate and witness the ordination of fifteen members as Deaconesses, Ministers, Elders, Pastors and Rev. Ministers into the ministry of Living Faith International Church (LFIC).

Ordination is the rite by which people whom God and the church have called to ordained ministry are set apart by prayer and the laying on of hands. The ordinates are as follows:

Reverend Ministers Dr Akwasi Achampong and Sylvia Q. Asamoah, Pastors Delvin Guzman, Deaconess Gloria Addico, Deaconess Reginald Smith and Dr Afia S. Achampong,

Ministers: Yemi Oluwale, Eugene Akahoho Elders: Albert Gordon, Seth Boamah, Faye Johnson and Edith Aryee Deaconesses: Eileen Khan, Rose Lynn Smith, and Audrey M. McCalla “Ordination is a gift from God to the church and is exercised in covenant with the whole church and within the covenant of the order of deacons or elders. My sister and brothers in Christ, you have been called to an ordained ministry. The church now confirms your calling through ordination. As ordained ministers, you are to be coworkers with the bishop. Remember that you are called to serve rather than to be served” Bishop Dominic Allotey told the ordinants’. The ordination ritual included’ individual promise of obedience to the ministry, the “laying on of hands and oil” and sacred prayer of ordination. The laying on of hands was joined by Apostle Jannie Ngwale, Bishop Abraham Sibiya, Bishop Nathan Edwards, Bishop Isaac Quaye, Prophet Jonathan Addison and a host of others.

The Church choir delivered a powerful performance; the congregation needed no help, they knew all the lyrics as they danced in the aisles, with their arms stretched above their heads, with faces turned upward; thanking God and celebrating their new leaders. Followed by Communion, the fifteen members were introduced to the church and presented with certificate of ordination.
