Orphanage adopts week old child who lost mother after delivery

Nkoranza (B/A) March 30, GNA - The management of the Royal Child Foundation Orphanage at Nkoranza in Brong Ahafo has adopted a week old baby boy whose mother died soon after delivery at the St. Theresa's Hospital in Nkoranza. The boy, named Kwaku, weighed about 3.4 kilogrammes. Mr. Karikari Bediako-Poku, Founder and Project Director of the Home told the Ghana News Agency that the mother, Akosua Koran, aged about 24, hailed from Ayerede, near Nkoranza. She gave birth at home but due to complications was rushed to the hospital where she died soon on arrival. Mr. Bediako-Poku said the baby was in good health and under the care of the Mother of the Orphanage. He appealed to benevolent organizations, churches, NGOs and public-spirited individuals to support the Home.
