The former Minister for Finance Yaw Osafo Marfo has introduced a new twist to the ongoing trial of embattled businessman Alfred Woyome over the controversial GH¢51m judgment debt payment.

Mr. Osafo Marfo who was subpoenaed to appear before the court at the instance of the state disclosed in his presentation with a document that lawyers for VAMED Engineering, a company that was being fronted by Alfred Woyome wrote to him while in office that they were not interested in the construction of the four stadia as had been represented by Woyome in his tender document for the contract.

He noted that the state informed VAMED through a letter stating reasons why it had to terminate the tender process for the construction of stadia.

Mr. Alfred Woyome was paid a whooping sum of GH¢51m judgment debt for roles the company he represented M-Powapak in the transaction.

However, according to Mr, Osafo Marfo the contract that was terminated was a tendering process and not an agreement.

Mr. Osafo Marfo added that by this the government had every right to terminate the contract with M-Powapak which Alfred Woyome represented.

In the letter to Mr. Osafo Marfo by VAMED, the company halted their search for alternative financing to construct the hospitals after it learned that only stadia projects will be implemented. Click for pdf document**
