Thursday, August 29, 2024, was a momentous occasion as hundreds of chiefs of the Akyem Kotoku State came to the Kotoku Palace in Akim-Oda as part of its traditional council meeting.
Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III who is the chief of Awisa swore the oath of allegiance as Akyempimhene to Oseadeeyo, Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, King of the Akyem Kotoku State.
The short ceremony was steeped in tradition amidst drumming and dancing and shouts of joy from supporters of Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III.
Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV immediately after swearing the oath, offered words of wisdom and advice to the newly installed Kotoku Akyempimhene.
He urged the new Kotoku Akyempimhene among other things to lead an exemplary life, guided by the principles of integrity, honesty, and compassion.
Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV reminded Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III that: “Leadership is a sacred trust. You have the responsibility to protect and promote the welfare of the people, unite the people; don’t divide them”.
Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III known in private life as Nana Kofi Asante, started his primary education at Akyem Awisa.
He later had his secondary education at Oda Senior High School. A product of the
Maritime University, Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III currently works as the Counterintelligence Director of the Republic of Ghana.
The Akyempimhene is the Minister of Security for the Akyem Kotoku State. He’s in charge of the King’s safety and security- a duty Nana Ntifu Kwagyan III is very much abreast of.
Nana Ntiful Kwagyan III thanked the Kotokuhene for reposing much confidence in him and elevating him to such a prestigious position.
He assured Oseadeeyo of his unwavering support for the cause of the Akyem Kotoku State.
Nana Ntiful Kwagyan III joins the league of Abrempongs of Akyem Kotoku State at a time Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV is initiating a major restructuring of the Akyem Kotoku State.
