There is an apparent confusion within the corridors of the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare between the substantive Minister, E.T Mensah and his Deputy Antwi Bosiako Sekyere over the status of the work of the committee, the Ministry set up to investigate the conduct of the Osu Children Home.
More than six weeks after Mr. Mensah inaugurated the committee chaired by his deputy to investigate the allegations contained in the video recording made by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas there is little information about the status of the committee's work. When reached by Hot FM about the outcome of the committee's work, the Deputy Minister said they have completed their work and submitted their report to his boss. But Mr. E.T. Mensah when reached by Hot Fm has denied receipt of the report, rather asking Hot Fm to double-check from his Deputy.
The nine-member committee was inaugurated on the 6th September. Other members are Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Elizabeth Dasaah, National Co-ordinator of (DOVVSU); Ms Valerie Amatey, Attorney General's Department; Ms Mariama Yahaya, a representative of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs, and Kofi Kumah, Ghana Coalition on the Rights of the Child.
The rest are Alex Derry Danikuu, Ghana Association of Social Workers; Ms Elizabeth Hagan, acting Chief Labour Officer, and Ms Eva O. Tandoh, Management and Productivity Training Institute.
