A Kumasi-based popular Islamic spiritual leader, Sheikh Mallam Musah, has stated that nothing evil will befall the nation, either in the coming days or after the verdict of the Supreme Court on the ongoing election petition as its being prophesied by some religious heads.

The renowned and highly revered Seer, who three days to the December 7 election predicted that President John Mahama will secure a one-touch victory, but the verdict will be rejected by the main opposition leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, noted that: “despite the fact that some people will like to rock the boat after the verdict of the election petition, nothing awful will happen.”

Even though Sheikh Mallam Musah admitted that there will be some pockets of skirmishes at some flash points in the aftermath of the Justices’ ruling on the Court case, he was nevertheless, emphatic it will not escalate to the level as seen in other African countries such as the Ivory Coast.

In an exclusive interview with The Al-Hajj on Monday, the respected Islamic leader explained that: “It is expected that in a novelty high profile case of this nature, some people will like to take advantage of the situation to foment trouble after the court’s ruling, but I can say on divine authority that nothing evil will befall this country as being speculated.”

Sheikh Mallam Musah’s definite assurance comes on the heels of a prophecy by the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, Dr. Mensa Otabil, that he could sense evil befalling Ghana within the next one month if Christians do not wake up and pray for the country.

“I have a sense of heaviness in my spirit concerning the destiny of this country that there is something heavy ready to fall upon this country that if we don’t take charge of that we will be in a different state a month from now,” he stated in his sermon to the congregation at Christ Temple on Sunday July 14, 2013.

Prior to Dr. Otabil’s prophecy, the leader and founder of Glorious Word Ministry International in Accra, Rev. Owusu Bempah, aside predicting the death of President Mahama this year, warned of blood spill in the country should the judges fail to make the right declaration.

Rev. Owusu Bempah on Wednesday, has once again repeated his prophecy, claiming, he also from where he stands as a spiritual leader, can smell war from far away heading towards the direction of Ghana. He, however, insisted that God always reveal to redeem.

The doom spell hanging over the neck of the country according to him is a wake-up call on Christians to watch and pray.

In his view, leaders of the various political parties in Ghana, especially the major ones, could play a vital role in averting the time bomb which could explode after the Supreme Court makes its final declaration.

But these prophecies of the two men of God were downplayed by the Executive Director for the West Africa Network for Peace Building, Mr. Emmanuel Bombande, who said peace, will prevail after the Supreme Court’s pronouncement on the ongoing election petition.

According to Mr. Bombande, based on his analysis on the ground, the declarations by the Court will “on the contrary, see democracy deeply entrenched in Ghana,” a submission that consolidates Sheikh Mallam Musah’s consistent proclamations.

This was not the first time the Kumasi-based renowned spiritualist has made predictions. Prior to the December 7 and 8 elections, Mallam Musah foretold that the New Patriotic Party under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo would suffer another excruciating beatings from the hands of the governing NDC candidate, John Mahama because the latter was not spiritually ordained to rule Ghana.

He added that: “What worries me the most is that, Nana Akufo-Addo will not be ready to accept defeat and that will result in some pockets of violence erupting in some part of the country, but it will not escalate to other parts of the country like what happened in Cote d' Ivoire.”

Reaffirming the same prophecy on Monday, Mallam Musah told this reporter that: “despite the anxiety and tension that is expected to await the verdict, nothing untoward will befall the nation.”
