The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association has expressed sadness over the death of renowned football analyst James Oyedeji.

The late Oyedeji died Monday 4 April 2016, at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after battling a short illness.

Commenting on the death of the football historian, Mr Akenteng described Oyedeji as a very knowledgeable person, who cannot be replaced in the football fraternity.

“Coach Addy [and I] were amazed at his knowledge, and I think everyone will miss him so much. I came back from Switzerland a few nights ago to be met with such news. I am dumbfounded,” he told Class News.

He further indicated that the 64-year-old former administrator “has been so good, we have been working even beyond friendship".

"If he were alive, he would be the first to call for an action of support from the coaches association for Duncan at Kotoko,” the tactician added.

With an MSc. Economics degree, James Oyedeji indicated in previous interviews that he was “born literally on a park and the first person I saw was the then goalkeeper of the Black Stars, Abdul Kasumu. I also worked in sports as a child with my mother making sales from spectators who watched matches”.

Until his death, he was a regular guest on the Sports Zone show on Class 91.3FM hosted by Hussein Hassan.
