Otiko’s successor rescues 25 ‘street children’ in joint AMA-Gender Ministry night ‘raid’

25 children who sleep, live and work on the streets of Accra have been rescued by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, led by the Hon. Minister, Mrs Cynthia Mamle Morrison, MyNewsGh.com can report.

The exercise which took place on Saturday 22nd December, 2018 (at midnight) saw the ministry and officials of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly conduct the raid to take some children off the street as part of the ‘Operation Get off the Street Now: For a Better Life’.

The successful exercise, which took place in Accra, saw 25 male children removed from the street and taken to the Madina Social Welfare Shelter.

Cynthia Morrison is currently the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West constituency. On 9th August 2018, she was appointed Minister designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection by President Nana Akufo-Addo. She was confirmed months ago and she has since hit the ground running.
