Otinibi (GA/R), April 7, GNA - The Otinibi Basic School, in the Ga East Municipality, would soon get a Dining Hall and a Kitchen, to facilitate the smooth implementation of the School Feeding Programme in the area.

The facility, financed by Prembaf, a non-governmental organisation, under its 93Food For People" (FFP) Project, would be completed by the end of year and estimated to cost 260,000 US dollars. Nii Kweidja Mensah the Third, Chief of Otinibi, who cut the sod for the take-off of the project, thanked the NGO for the gesture. He assured benevolent organisations that the traditional authority was prepared to release land for them to initiate projects in the area, to help improve the living standards of the people. Mr Bernard Modey, Project Manager, said the facility would help provide the school children with a balanced diet, needed for their physical and mental development.

This, Mr Modey said, would go a long way to help the school children to attain academic laurels and grow into responsible adults. Mr Choro Adams Indoh, Assemblyman for the area, thanked Nii Mensah for readily releasing land for the project, and hoped other traditional rulers in the area would emulate his good example. Mr Joshua Kobla, Assistant Director at the Ga East Municipal Assembly, assured schools in the Municipality of the Assembly's support towards school-initiated projects.

Madam Grace Ninsaw, Headmistress of the school, thanked the NGO for the gesture, and said it would go a long way to increase school enrolment in the area.

Madam Ninsaw gave the assurance that the facility would be put to good= use.
