Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is the Asantehene
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for a new chapter in relations between Africa and Europe, urging leaders to build partnerships rooted in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and long-term cooperation.
Speaking as the Guest of Honour at the TOP CHARITY ChangeMAKERS 2026 discussions held at Foksal Palace in Warsaw, Poland, the Asantehene highlighted the vast opportunities emerging across Africa and invited greater collaboration with European partners.
"Africa is ready for partnerships that create value on both sides. The future of Africa-Europe relations must be built on mutual respect, shared prosperity, and strategic cooperation," he said.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II noted that Africa is increasingly becoming a hub for investment, innovation, and cultural exchange, presenting significant opportunities for businesses, institutions, and development partners.
"The continent offers immense opportunities for investment, innovation, and cultural exchange. What we seek are partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to our people while fostering sustainable growth," he added.
The Asantehene also reflected on the historical ties between Ghana and Poland, encouraging renewed engagement in key sectors such as trade, education, philanthropy, and sustainable development.
"Our shared history provides a strong foundation for deeper engagement. We must build on these connections to advance trade, education, philanthropy, and sustainable development for future generations," he stated.

His keynote address formed part of discussions that brought together global leaders, philanthropists, policymakers, and business executives to explore solutions to global challenges and opportunities for international cooperation.
The event provided a platform for dialogue on strengthening partnerships, promoting sustainable development, and fostering cross-continental collaboration between Africa and Europe.
