Kumasi, April 18, GNA - Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has assured Muslim Communities of an equitable share of his educational developmental agenda. Otumfuo was welcoming a National Muslim delegation who paid a courtesy call on him in Kumasi on Friday to convey their felicitations and prayers during the celebration marking his 10th year reign.
He expressed the hope that, the prayers would build him spiritually and prolong his life to actualize his vision for the betterment of the Ashanti kingdom. Led by National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu and the Ameer and Missionary in- charge of Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Maulvi Dr. Wahab Adam, the delegation donated a ram to the king. The National Chief Imam expressed delight that the relationship between the Manhyia Palace and Muslims has been cordial and hoped it would continue.
He pledged the unflinching support of all Muslims in all his endeavours whiles stressing the need for closer ties between the Palace and other religious bodies to foster community development, adding that, Muslims would always rally behind him and that religious bodies were the major link to community development since they always prayed positively for him. Maulvi Dr. Wahab Adam, thanked Otumfuo for involving Muslims in his anniversary and expressed the hope that God would guide him to continue with his laudable campaign on education.
He also advised Muslim communities to avoid all forms of negative tendencies that would stagnate their development. Among Other dignitaries present were Sheikh Imrana Musah, Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Husseini Wofa, a member of the Tijaniyya Movement of Ghana and Maulvi Masroor Ahmed Muzaffar of the Ashanti Regional Missionary of Ahmadiyya Muslim. 18 April 09
