A cross-section of prostitutes in the Ashanti region have attributed football as a determining factor in boosting of their market as prostitutes.

According to the prostitutes, patronage of their services shoot high when Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the biggest football club in the region win their league games.

A leader of the prostitutes based at Adum, Naa Hemaa speaking with a Kessben FM reporter disclosed, especially when Kotoko win games at the Baba Yara stadium, the number of people who crave for their services doubles.

The sex workers complained during the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season, patronage of their services relatively went down due to the club’s inconsistency in winning games at the Baba Yara stadium.

After match day 5 of the Ghana premier league of the 2016/17 season, Kotoko have won all three home games played at the Baba Yara Sports stadium, this the prostitutes say will be a harvest season for them as they expect the winning streak of the porcupines to continue.
