Our school is a death trap

Bogoso (W/R), Sept. 27 GNA - The Head teacher and parents of the District Assembly Junior High School at Obengkrom near Bogoso in the Wester= n Region have expressed concern about the deteriorating state of the school structure. They told the GNA that since the school was built in the 1970s it had not undergone any rehabilitation and was now a death trap adding that part of the roof had been ripped off by the weather and the remaining parts are filled with holes. Mr Peter Agbekodzi, the head teacher, said the current situation of th= e building posed a big threat to life and this has led to low pupil attendanc= e and truancy among the youth in the school. Mr Isaac Asante, the Assembly Member of the area, said following several appeals, the Prestea-Huni Valley District Assembly has promised to include the rehabilitation of the school in its next budget.
