Owusu Nsiah Is New IGP

Mr S. Owusu Nsiah has been appointed the Inspector General of Police (IGP). An official statement signed by the Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo Mpiani, said the appointment by President J.A. Kufour followed consultations with the Council of State and the recommendation of the Police Council.

It named Mrs Elizabeth Mills-Robertson, as Deputy IGP (Administration) Mr Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong, Deputy IGP (Operations). The statement said Mr Kwasi Nkansah, Mr J.B. Amofah, Mr Ricard K. Safo-Kwarteng, Mr K. Gyabuaah, Mr Paul Quaye and Dr K.K. Manfo had been promoted as Commissioners of Police. Mr Mohammed Ahmed, Alhassan and Mr David Asante Apeadu, have also been promoted Deputy Commissioners of Police.
