Embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has carried out his threat not to appear before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee over the 51 million Ghana Cedis judgment debt saga despite a summons issued against him to do so.

His Aide Kwame Tawiah had earlier stated that Mr. Woyome won’t appear before the committee.

The PAC was forced to suspend hearings on that matter due to Mr. Woyome’s failure to appear.

Chairman of the Committee Albert Kan Dapaah told the Committee he will have the Inspector General of Police compel Mr Woyome to appear.

This is the second time Alfred Woyome has failed to appear before the committee after receiving invitations from the Chairman of the committee.

Mr. Woyome first declined invitation to appear before the committee in July. According to his lawyers an appearance before the PAC will be prejudicial to cases before the Superior Courts.

However, his latest action seems to have infuriated the chairman of the committee, Hon. Kan Dapaah who has vowed to ensure that Alfred Woyome is forced to appear by having the IGP to compel him to do so.

Mr. Woyome is currently facing charges of defrauding and causing financial loss to the state.
