A solemn state funeral was held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Independence Square in Accra to bid farewell to the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
The ceremony brought together key national leaders, dignitaries, members of the clergy, and hundreds of mourners who have gathered in honour of the pioneering stateswoman.

President John Dramani Mahama, who earlier announced the government’s decision to accord her a state funeral, was in attendance with his wife, Lordina Mahama, the Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, alongside senior government officials, and former appointees.
Also, present was the former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his wife; former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and his wife Samira Bawumia; and former President John Agyekum Kufuor, who joined the congregation to pay their final respects.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, a long-standing advocate for women’s empowerment and social justice, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
