Yesterday on JoyNews’ weekly news analysis show, Newsfile, host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guest discussed some topical issues that came up within the past week.

In the edition, topics that were up for discussion bordered around the strike action declared by some teacher unions in the country regarding some arrears and a subsequent High Court order for the teachers to call off the strike.

Lawyer Ayenini and his panelist also discussed a documentary by Joynews titled Scars of the Revolution.

The documentary looked into the work of the 2002 National Reconciliation Commission in bringing closure between victims and conductors of the 1979 Revolution.

The panel discussed the essence of the film in bringing either full closure on issues of human rights abuses during the revolution or as a way of telling the history of the country.

Also talked about, was what the possibility of the Electoral Commission compiling a new voter register will mean for the two main political parties, the NPP and the NDC, as well as how it will affect the chances of the country going into a runoff in the 2020 presidential elections.

Below are the top issues host Samson Anyenini and his panel discussed on the day:

Teachers strike – Compelling their return to the classroom, a solution?

Scars of the Revolution – For fuller closure or telling history?

Election 2020 - NPP/NDC won’t win one touch despite “New Register”
